Receiving Supervisor

We are actively seeking a Receiving Supervisor. This position plays an integral role in Ashley Furniture Industries future success in meeting our customers' needs and our continued growth.
Essential Functions:
Coordinate the work and activities of employees by directing members of the department to meet production goal.
Make decisions and solve problems by analyzing information and evaluating results to optimize production.
Audit production on a daily basis to ensure standard operating procedures are being met.
Manage employee performance and assist employees in making improvements to their performance through coaching, mentoring, and administering performance reviews.
Manage and improve departmental performance measures through use and interpretation of improvement tools (CQI, Lean Manufacturing)
Ensure that equipment is assigned and utilized in the most safe and efficient manner.
Make employment decisions and/or recommendations such as hiring, improvement plans, transfers, promotions, terminations, and pay adjustments. Track employee time-keeping and absenteeism.
Job Requirements
Required Experience:
1 year supervisory experience or 1 year Ashley Shipping/Receiving/Warehousing experience
Necessary Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
Inverntory Management
Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement
Product and process knowledge
Upon hire will be required to obtain valid company-issued powered industrial vehicle licenses
Provide effective leadership: a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through teamwork
Manage resources to optimize ? equipment, facilities, employees, methods and materials
Handle multiple projects simultaneously within established time constraints

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
