Student Trainee (General Labor Worker)

Who May Apply:
Students who are eligible for participation in the Department of the Army Internship Program Positions are open to current students pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate in an accredited high school, college (including 4-year colleges/universities, community colleges, and junior colleges); professional, technical, vocational, and trade school; advanced degree programs; or other qualifying educational institution on at least a half-time basis (as defined by the institution in which the student is enrolled). Short-term training programs (e.g., several two-week programs completed) are not considered an academic course of study. Internship for current students in good standing at an accredited education. For this internship, you must be able to work full time during the summer hours. Although appointment is not to exceed one year, incumbent will be on leave without pay during school.
Qualifications:
Your resume must indicate your overall knowledge, skills and ability and/or training to independently perform the duties of a Student Trainee (General Labor Worker) as stated in the duties for the position without normal supervision. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the work of the position without more than normal supervision. Ability to do the work of a Student Trainee (General Labor Worker) without more than normal supervision. Common tasks such as washing vehicles, utilizing simple hand tools, and mowing grass using a power mower and work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. Physical Effort:
The incumbent exerts moderate effort in occasionally lifting and carrying heavy objects weight about 40 - 50 pounds and frequently moving or pushing trash receptacles, picnic tables, lawn mowers, etc. Working Conditions:
The incumbent works usually outside and is subjected to all kinds of weather. Subject to cuts, bruises, fumes, burns, etc, in performing maintenance and to more serious injuries when working on rip rap and dam shores. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
